Getting people to listen to your advice is often a challenge and requires some finesse.  Learn the secret to giving guidance in a way that is most likely to be successful.

If you have people in your life right now that you’re trying to give advice to and you just don’t feel like it’s working, I want to give you a few quick ideas or tips about what you might do to move the needle forward a little bit.

First of all, is just to make sure that whoever it is that you’re giving the advice to, that you found the right time to give them that advice.  That hopefully they’re asking for it or that you’ve asked them, “Gee, Would you like my point of view on this?”

By making the conditions right for them to be able to hear your message or to hear your advice, you’re definitely opening the door, and you’re paving the way, for a more receptive response.

If you’re just off the cuff giving your advice and they may have not wanted it or asked for it, most likely it is going to meet with resistance.

The second thing to do is just to make sure that you’re giving it with love.  Giving it with care and concern with the way that you’re providing it.

That it doesn’t seem that you’re providing the advice to meet your own needs, or to make your life better, or to avoid problems.

But that you’re really giving the advice from the standpoint of that you’re concerned about them.  You care about them.  You want them to be successful and happy and do better.

And so when you have that mindset, and if that caring really comes through, that’s going to be a more receptive message for whatever kind of advice that you give.
